Ebonized Cherry Stool

Small stool in ebonized cherry. Hand-crafted from wild cherry logs foraged in local woodlands. This stool is perfect for a small child or for a teddybear or doll to sit on or a plant stand or simply as a footrest. The seat has been hard carved with a gouge to create a rippled texture and the octagonal legs have been hand-finished with spokeshave and plane and are tenoned through the seat and secured with wedges to ensure they will not come loose.

This stool has been ebonized using a vinegar solution which reacts with the natural tannins within the wood to create a beautiful dark brown hue and then finished in cold-pressed linseed oil and beeswax.
