Hand-Turned Ebonised Beech Eating Bowl
Lovely hand turned beech wood eating bowl, turned on a lathe. This bowl is from a log from a beech tree that stood on the banks of the river Tyne just outside Hexham in Northumberland and was hauled all the way back to Berkshire after a visit up north.
This simple eating bowl is perfect for your breakfast porridge or muesli or for a lunchtime bowl of soup or even a supper time warming bowl of spicy noodles.
I always think food tastes better when eaten from wooden bowls or plates, the tactile nature and insulating properties of the wood make it a pleasure to use.
Alternatively can be used for crisps or nuts or as simply a beautiful sculptural object.
The outside bowl has been ebonised, creating a beautiful dark green colour but still showing the wood grain underneath. The inside and rim is a lovely dark honey colour with some light spalting.
Finished in Cold pressed linseed oil and beeswax.
Measurements: 153mm wide x 65mm high.
Care Instructions:
For best results wash in warm soapy water and dry immediately, don't leave soaking in water or put in dishwasher. From time to time re oil using a food safe oil (but not olive oil).
